About Rev. Paul A. Lauer

Rev. Paul A. Lauer is a rostered Pastor of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod presently serving Our Savior Lutheran Church of Mankato, Minnesota, USA. 

The son of an LCMS Pastor, Rev. Lauer grew up in the Christian/Lutheran/LCMS culture of Southern Minnesota at rural Blue Earth, Glencoe, Rochester, and Hutchinson.  Upon graduation from high school in 1983, he attended Concordia College in St. Paul and received a B.A. in Psychology and completion of all requisite preseminary studies in 1987.  He was certified for ordination in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and graduated with a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1991.  His vicarage (internship) year was spent at Kirkville, MO in a town-gown ministry at Truman State University in Kirksville where he met his future wife.

Pastor Lauer served first as assistant and then as associate pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman, Michigan from 1991-1994. He then served for 11 years as sole Pastor at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac, Michigan and accepted a Call to be Sr. Pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN where he has been since September of 2005.  

Paul served in the US Army Reserve as an enlisted man from 1982-1988 while in high school and college.  He played the drums during high school and college years and enjoys singing, whistling, and plunking on the piano to the chagrin of many.  He enjoys gadgets of all kinds, web technology, and hopes to do more working with wood.
